Our verdict

Uptech is a Kyiv product studio that has built apps for GOAT, Dollar Shave Club, and Aspiration and now adds AI features such as medical image processing to fintech and healthcare products. Outside listings put it at about $25 to $49 an hour, the lowest band among the firms we review, alongside 10Pearls and Intuz. It suits a startup or midsize company that wants a design-led mobile and web team with AI skills at a modest rate, and it is less suited to a buyer who needs a large enterprise AI program.

The right buyer

  • Consumer apps with large audiences. Its iOS and Android work for a retail platform now serves more than 30 million users with a 4.9 App Store rating (homepage).
  • Healthcare companies adding AI to clinical workflows. It built an AI medical imaging system that it says cuts diagnostic time by 30% (homepage).
  • Fintech apps that need to scale safely. It optimized a fintech app to support more than 130,000 monthly active users at 99.5% stability (homepage).
  • Startups that want a team from idea to launch. Uptech says it has helped more than 200 companies build web and mobile apps (homepage).

Reasons to look elsewhere

  • Most of its published work is app development, and only a few cases are AI systems.
  • The team works from Kyiv, so US clients plan around a seven to ten hour time difference.
  • It has 50 to 249 employees, according to outside listings, which limits how many large projects it can run at once (GoodFirms profile).

Uptech, At A High Level

  • Has 50 to 249 employees, according to outside listings, and estimated annual revenue of $5 million to $7 million (GoodFirms profile).
  • Reports work for more than 200 companies, from bootstrapped startups to Fortune 500 companies (about page).
