Ajit Kumbhare is the founder and CEO of Fresh Gravity, the data management, analytics, and AI consulting firm based in Flower Mound, Texas, and a two-time services founder who has spent more than two decades helping Fortune 500 companies put new technology to work (Fresh Gravity).
Engineering at IIT Bombay and Twelve Years at Serene
Kumbhare earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (Fresh Gravity). In 2003 he founded Serene Corporation, a Silicon Valley IT services firm, and ran it as CEO for 12 years (Fresh Gravity; The Economic Times).
He left Serene in January 2015, and the company was later acquired by AST Corp (The Economic Times).
Starting Fresh Gravity in Pune and Silicon Valley
Two months after leaving Serene, Kumbhare set up Fresh Gravity with operations in Pune, India, and Silicon Valley (The Economic Times). “I founded Fresh Gravity with the idea that bigger corporations have to adopt cutting-edge digital technology fast to enhance their own customer experience and stay ahead,” he told The Economic Times in October 2015. He said his record at Serene helped the new firm win customer trust quickly, and he put in $1 million of his own money at the start (The Economic Times).
He chose Pune for the engineering team because of the city’s supply of technical talent, and he said he saw India as an eventual large market of its own (The Economic Times). The firm marked its ninth anniversary in April 2024 with a celebration at the Pune office (Fresh Gravity).
Fresh Gravity has since become a specialist in master data management, analytics, and AI, with a stated mission to make advanced technology available to clients of every size (Fresh Gravity; Fresh Gravity). Kumbhare also sits on the boards of Thought Sphere, Inc. and Visage Map, Inc. (Fresh Gravity).
