Bal Heroor

Founder and CEO, Mactores

Bal Heroor is the founder and CEO of Mactores, the Bellevue, Washington, AWS modernization and AI firm he started in 2008 and grew from India to the United States into a company that has worked for more than 200 enterprise customers (Techstrong Learning).

Eighteen years across the table from CIOs

Heroor founded Mactores in 2008 as one of the first consulting firms built around AWS adoption, before most enterprises had heard of AWS (Mactores; Techstrong Learning). He kept the firm bootstrapped and profitable, and he has said it stayed deliberately lean, with revenue tripling while headcount did not, because it automated its own delivery work long before AI made that common (Techstrong Learning). Its customers have included DocuSign, The New York Times, Seagate, Poshmark, American Electric Power, and USANA Health Sciences (Techstrong Learning).

Building Aedeon out of the Mactores playbook

In 2026 Heroor co-founded Aedeon with Nandan Umarji, who runs its finance and operations; Aedeon is the agent platform that Mactores uses to handle discovery, mapping, and test work on its projects (Aedeon; Mactores). He describes the idea plainly: “Enterprises waste their best engineering talent on work that doesn’t require engineering judgment. Find the pattern. Automate the pattern. Free the engineers to do actual engineering” (Aedeon). In October 2026 he presented a Techstrong Learning webinar, “Modernization That Ships with AI,” on where agents help a cloud migration and where senior engineers must keep control (Techstrong Learning).
