Marat Karpeko is the founder of InData Labs, an AI development, implementation and consulting firm now headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus, that he started in Minsk, Belarus, in 2014. A video game industry veteran who was chief operating officer at Wargaming, he is known for bringing years of big data analytics experience from gaming into an AI services company and now oversees its general management.
From Wargaming Operations to a Data Science Lab
His career took off in 2004 when he became chief operating officer in the video game industry, and his interest in AI grew from there, he told SafetyDetectives in 2023. Co-founder Ilya Kirillov, then chief executive, started the business with Irina Kryshneva, who then worked for Karpeko at Wargaming (InData Labs). Today Karpeko says he is “mostly in charge of the general management of the company,” including strategy, financial stability and long-term vision. InData Labs closed its Belarusian entity in 2024 and now works from Cyprus, Lithuania and the US.
