Matt Kurleto

Founder and CEO, Neoteric

Matt (Mateusz) Kurleto founded Neoteric, the Gdańsk software and AI house, in 2005 while still at university, and remains its chief executive. His first paid job, he told the recruiting firm Manning Global, was assembling PCs for friends and neighbors as a kid (Manning Global).

Servers, freelancers, and a vacuum cleaner

Kurleto’s father was a system administrator, and Kurleto helped set up servers and networks at the companies where his father worked. He started Neoteric in his second year of university, working with freelancers on simple apps, websites, and ecommerce builds.

He dates the real company to 2012, when he hired his first permanent employee. Neoteric became a limited company two years later, and in 2016 two associates joined as COO and CTO, Grzegorz Gwoźdź taking the technical role. He still remembers bringing a vacuum cleaner from home to tidy the first office.

Remote work and Gen Z developers

By 2021 Neoteric had more than 100 people and had worked for the World Bank, Boeing, and Nestlé, with most clients in the United States, the Polish trade outlet Marketing i Biznes reported. Kurleto told the outlet he favors remote work, digital nomads, and young developers, on the view that people do their best work when they can deliver results their own way (Marketing i Biznes).

Accelerators and teaching

Outside Neoteric, Kurleto has worked with the techSeed.me accelerator and the Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Foundation, a nonprofit supporting youth education, on a program offering foreign founders $50,000 in non-equity funding. He says he has spent more than 100 days teaching software development, business analysis, and project management. Neoteric now focuses on AI product development and starts projects with scoping workshops. Our Neoteric review covers how that works for buyers.
