Michal Rachtan is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Unit8, a data and AI consulting firm in Lausanne, Switzerland, that he started in 2017 with Marcin Pietrzyk. A software engineer who spent years building data systems inside Palantir’s customers, he leads the firm’s technology work from its office in Zürich, Switzerland.
Customer Deployments at Palantir
Before Unit8 he was a forward deployed software engineer and tech lead at Palantir Technologies, building core data infrastructure and software for enterprise customers in aerospace, airlines, advertising, chemicals, telecom and investment banking, in Europe and the US. He also worked at Swisscom, and he holds a master’s degree in computer networks from a technical university in Kraków, Poland (Unit8).
Unit8’s Technology Practice
Unit8 has been a certified Palantir partner since 2020. When the investment firm Sagard NewGen took a minority stake in 2022, Rachtan said Unit8 would keep “our DNA and company culture” as it grew (Unit8).
