Ryan Bosshart is co-founder and chief executive of phData, the Minneapolis, Minnesota, data and AI services firm (phData). He joined in August 2017 as vice president of services after working as a principal sales engineer at Cloudera (PR Newswire).
Hadoop storage at Cloudera
At Cloudera, Bosshart led a team focused on Hadoop storage technologies such as HDFS, HBase, and Kudu. He has built large distributed systems since 2006, studied at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and co-chaired the Twin Cities Spark and Hadoop User Group (PR Newswire).
An engineering-first services firm
When he joined phData, Bosshart said the software services industry had underperformed for customers and that phData was an engineering-first company focused on results (PR Newswire). The firm now has more than 900 staff in the US, Latin America, and India (phData).
