Steve Meier is a co-founder of KUNGFU.AI, an AI development, implementation and consulting firm in Austin, Texas, that he started in 2017 with Stephen Straus, Ron Green and Zhangzhang (ZZ) Si. A sales and marketing executive who came to AI through IBM Watson, he is managing director and leads the firm’s commercial business and innovation work.

Before KUNGFU.AI he was head of creative strategy for Fortune 500 brands including IBM, Cisco and AT&T, and led the creation of the first suite of marketing tools powered by IBM Watson (KUNGFU.AI). He also holds a certificate from MIT Sloan in artificial intelligence and business strategy, and on LinkedIn he credits his approach to sales, human-centered design, first-principles thinking and time as an educator. Straus was referred to him through networking because of his sales and marketing background (KUNGFU.AI).

He began as vice president of sales and marketing, and in September 2019 moved into the new role of chief creative officer, leading corporate development and consulting services. He later led growth and since July 2022 has been managing director, where he says he looks “to incubate and deploy new ideas to help the business grow profitably and do the same for our customers.”
