David Pitt is a founder of Keyhole Software, an AI development, implementation and consulting firm in Lenexa, Kansas, that he started with Chris DeSalvo in 2008. A hands-on consultant, he is known for the focus on software craftsmanship, senior talent and continuous learning that Keyhole was built around.
A Consultancy Named for a Route Up Longs Peak
He met DeSalvo in the 1990s at CrossLogic Corporation, an application development consultancy where he was an expert consultant and DeSalvo handled the business side (Keyhole Software). They founded Keyhole on four principles: hire only the best consultants, keep learning across many technologies, work as partners embedded in client teams and have fun doing the work. The name comes from the Keyhole Route on Longs Peak, a 14,000-foot mountain near Estes Park, Colorado, which stands in the company’s telling for pushing past “good enough.” Training sessions and lunch-and-learns for clients and staff remain part of how Keyhole works.
