Piotr Guzik is the founder and chief executive of Datumo, the Warsaw big data and cloud consultancy, and a data platform architect who started out writing software for the Java virtual machine (Data and AI Warsaw Tech Summit; Datumo).
From JVM code to big data in Warsaw
Before Datumo he worked as a software engineer on JVM projects, then moved into big data, where by his own account he had spent eight years on projects by the time he spoke at the Data and AI Warsaw Tech Summit (Data and AI Warsaw Tech Summit). He describes the part of the work he enjoys most as carrying a plan “from the blueprint to the ultimate goal - production running application which solves the real-life problems of the clients” (Data and AI Warsaw Tech Summit).
Founding and leading Datumo
He registered Datumo in Warsaw in October 2017 and has been president of its management board since then; the board now also includes Michał Misiewicz, Rafał Rozpondek, and Julia Kasparek (company register). At Datumo he sets strategy, shapes the company’s culture and values, and handles relationships with key partners, and he still designs data platform architecture himself (Datumo).
