Our verdict

Muttdata, written Mutt Data in many client reviews, is an AI development, implementation and consulting firm founded in 2018, with offices in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay. It builds data platforms, machine learning systems and generative AI tools, much of it for retail, advertising, fintech and media companies in Latin America and the US. LeadIQ counts about 191 employees as of August 2026, and Clutch lists 16 reviews averaging 4.9 (LeadIQ; Clutch).

Its largest published AI project is GenAds for Mercado Libre, which uses Stable Diffusion on Amazon Bedrock to make display ad banners for small sellers. In an AWS case study, Mercado Libre reports more than 90,000 banners across seven countries, a 45% increase in display impressions and click-through rates 25% above other display ads in its Spanish-speaking markets (AWS). Clutch reviews describe data platform work for RapidSOS and ClassDojo and ad ranking models for Mercado Libre. Databricks chose Muttdata as its 2025 LATAM Enterprise AI Partner of the Year, and in 2026 the firm took its first outside investment, led by Resultiv Capital, followed by an investment from Databricks Ventures (Muttdata; Muttdata).

Muttdata is a strong choice for a mid-market or enterprise company in the Americas that wants its data platform and its machine learning built by the same nearshore team, especially in retail and advertising. Companies that want an adviser with no ties to a data platform vendor should weigh its close Databricks relationship.

The right buyer

  • Mid-market and enterprise companies that need a modern data platform on Databricks or AWS built so analytics and AI can run on it; Clutch lists 60% midmarket and 30% enterprise clients.
  • Marketplaces, retailers and ad-funded apps that want machine learning for ad bidding, audience targeting or generative ad creative, as with Mercado Libre and etermax.
  • Fintech and telecom teams that need fraud, credit scoring or churn models; Clutch reviews from Hullop, NAT and a Latin American telecom describe this work.
  • Buyers with $50,000 to $199,999 budgets, the most common project size on Clutch, who want a team in US-friendly time zones.

Reasons to look elsewhere

  • ClassDojo's CTO said on Clutch that the team could have done more to get the new tools adopted across the company, and that no phase-two plan was ready at the end.
  • A senior manager at a large retailer, on a roughly $1 million engagement, told Clutch there was a lot of room for improvement in project execution and rated cost 2 out of 5.
  • 12 of its 16 Clutch reviews date from 2022 and 2023, before most of its generative AI and Databricks work.
  • Databricks is a stated top priority and now an investor, so buyers who want neutral advice on choosing a data platform should keep that in mind.
